Title: Droplets
Materials: Water, sensors, wood, wires, notes

This work explores the inner rhythms of rain, using sensors that react to drops of water. These sensors then control a series of mechanical glockenspiel notes, which ring whenever a drop of water has been detected.
Using musical notes, the viewer will become aware of the inherent musical nature of the natural processes that surround us. A constantly evolving audio visual experience is created, entirely dependent on the weather - if there is no rain, there will be no sound.

Yann Seznec is an Edinburgh-based artist whose work explores sound, interactivity, and audience. His work has been shown at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, CCA Glasgow, The Hannah Maclure Centre, and CCA Glasgow. He has performed at the Royal Opera House, London, and internationally at STRP, Liquid Room Tokyo, Berghain Berlin, and more.

Yann received the Alt-w award in 2010.
